Baseball-Reference.com, the bible of baseball statistics, is admittedly incomplete and spotty on minor league players' records prior to World War II. This site has taken on the monstrous task of updating those records.
We believe we also have the largest collection, in one place, of minor league player photographs to accompany the players' biography.
We have increased some player's records by over 10 teams that were unrecorded.
We have uncovered and identified many players who did not have a record at all in the archives, thus adding their history to the record.
We have corrected records that were inaccurate. Players who shared a name with another player, brothers who received credit for their brother's statistics, and records that were just completely incorrect.
This blog attempts to get the record closer to correct. Daily we will be adding players' updated information. We have updated over 3,900 player's bios at this point !!!!
We have added to the SABR Biographies where information was missing or inaccurate.
We have been contacted by family members and have helped give them more information about their baseball playing ancestor. Some of the stories have been heartwarming.
Many Major League players' minor league records have been found to have holes in them. This information is plastered all over the internet and it's incorrect. We are trying to correct the historical record.
In order not to convolute the site, references will not be noted, but, are available upon request.
If you wish to have a particular ballplayer researched and added to the site, just contact us at ctstreasurehaven@aol.com and for a donation of your choosing we will add. An enormous amount of time is devoted to making the data correct, any help is appreciated.
